Eva-Lena Gästrin

I am a candidate in the Finnish Parliamentary elections in april 2023, in the Uusimaa / Nyland electoral district. I’ve been involved in local politics in Espoo since 2017 and now also since 2022 in the Länsi-Uusimaa regional council that works with social and health care issues.

Education and health care are the issues that I have worked the most with and now I am ready to take the next step and continue working on these issues on a national level.

I was born and raised in Espoo and after a few years living in Helsinki I now live in Viherlaakso in Espoo with my son. I went to school in Kauniainen and spend my summers in the Sipoo archipelago.

I am a registered nurse and at the moment I work in home health care. I’ve also worked as a swimming instructor for many years.

The important things for me are security in everyday life, equality and sustainable development. I come from a family where involvement in politics is a tradition and for me it is important to be able to influence and contribute to making people's everyday lives safe along with working municipal services.
